Weglow August solar installation campaign supporting renewable energy and positive community impact in Queensland.

POWERING COMMUNITY.
Weglow Delivers Renewable Energy for Sunshine Butterflies

At Weglow, we believe renewable energy is about so much more than reducing electricity bills. Instead, it’s about creating stronger, more resilient communities.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with Sunshine Butterflies, one of the Sunshine Coast’s most treasured not-for-profit organisations. Together, we’re taking an important step towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

With the installation of a 70.65kW solar system and a 110kWh battery storage system, Sunshine Butterflies is taking the first step towards energy independence. Once the project is complete, the organisation will be able to generate, store and manage more than 75% of its electricity on-site. As a result, it will significantly reduce its reliance on the grid.

This isn't just an investment in renewable energy; it's an investment in people

Every kilowatt of clean energy generated means lower operating costs and greater energy resilience. More importantly, it frees up more resources to support people living with disability and their families.

The installation also features donated solar panels. As a result, the project has become a true community collaboration and a powerful example of what organisations can achieve together.

Our Founding Director, Sam Jeffery, said the project reflects the growing momentum behind community organisations embracing sustainable energy solutions.

“Sunshine Butterflies has an incredible impact across our region, and we’re proud to support an initiative that will strengthen the organisation for years to come. Projects like this demonstrate how renewable energy can deliver lasting benefits for community organisations. We’re honoured to play a small part in helping bring that vision to life.”

Projects like this are helping redefine what’s possible for the not-for-profit sector. Renewable energy isn’t just about sustainability, it’s about giving organisations greater control over their future, allowing them to reinvest more into the communities they serve.

Here’s to a brighter future, powered by purpose.
